Claverdon Primary School

OFSTED Inspection

Please find below a copy of the Ofsted report for Claverdon School.  The report details the findings of the inspection team who conducted an inspection of the school from 20-21st March 2014.

Governors and staff are pleased with the report as it represents an evaluation of all that the school does.  It shows that Claverdon School offers a good all round education and that pupils in the school are well educated, are considerate towards each other and behave well.

We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all staff who worked diligently throughout the inspection. Thank you to parents who supported the inspection process with good wishes, cakes (to keep staff going!) and by completing Parent View.  Inspectors were impressed with the high volume of responses and with the positive comments given to them when they spoke to parents outside school.

We would also like to say thank you to all children, especially those who spoke to the inspectors with confidence and who were happy to explain their learning and to answer questions posed by the inspectors.

You may recall that the school was rated ‘Good’ when it was previously inspected in 2009.  Since then, the goalposts have changed and there is a much more rigorous inspection process in place.  The lead inspector said that what is now rated ‘Good’ would previously have been ‘Outstanding’; however we acknowledge that there are still things that we could do to improve even further.

Inspectors have identified the reasons why the school is not yet outstanding and we will be constructing an action plan to ensure that we address these areas.  Governors will monitor progress towards the achievement of these targets.

We acknowledge that this was a stressful time, but we all accept that schools are accountable and that everyone in Claverdon School acknowledges the duty to do their very best to ensure that we offer the best education to all pupils.  When you read the report we are sure you will agree that we have a great team and a great school!
